چکیده

Objective: To compare the left ventricular ejection fraction on echocardiograph, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and single-photon emission computed tomography scan in heart failure patients.
Study Design: This was a prospective cross-sectional study.
Place Duration of Study: Tertiary Cardiac Care Center Rawalpindi, Pakistan, from Nov 2021 to Apr 2022.
Methodology: study conducted November April 2022 at tertiary care center Rawalpindi. Thirty (n=30) patients either gender with reduced were selected by consecutive sampling technique analyzed quantify their (LVEF) using Echo, CMR SPECT scan. All three modalities used measure LVEF these compared accordingly.
Results: The measured Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography Scan Echocardiography range 15% 67%. mean 37.2±14.2 CMR, 37.17±14.1 38±12.3 Echo. determined slightly lower while that higher. p-value modalities, however, indicated statistically difference (p-value <0.05).
Conclusion: Although literature shows diversity results is considered standard reference for assessment when interpreted an expert observer. We our found all are complimentary each other can be interchangeably depending upon availability equipment reporting expertise observers.

Prediction of Changes in Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction after Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Surgery by Myocardial Perfusion Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography

Introduction: Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) is considered to be the single most important prognostic factor in patients with previous myocardial infarction. LVEF is not improved in all patients after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). This study aimed to assess the possibility of prediction of LVEF changes after CABG using myocardial perfusion gated signle photon emission compu...

Cardiac Function Electrocardiogram-Gated Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography Versus Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging for the Assessment of Left Ventricular Volumes and Ejection Fraction A Meta-Analysis

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of electrocardiogram (ECG)-gated single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) for assessment of left ventricular (LV) end-diastolic volume (EDV), end-systolic volume (ESV) and ejection fraction (EF) compared with the gold standard of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). BACKGROUND Several comparisons of ECG-gated SPECT...

The Correlation between Left and Right Ventricular Ejection Fractions in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease, Documented by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Introduction: The correlation between right and left ventricular ejection fractions (RVEF and LVEF, respectively) has been studied in only a small number of patients with a marked decrease in RVEF and LVEF. The aim of the present study was to compare LVEF and RVEF in patients with ischemic heart disease. RVEF and LVEF were measured by Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging. Materials a...

Assessment of left ventricular function with magnetic resonance imaging vs. echocardiography, contrast echocardiography, and single-photon emission computed tomography in patients with recent ST-elevation myocardial infarction.

AIMS Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is often considered to be the gold standard in measuring left ventricular function and volumes. The aim of this study was to assess the agreements between standard echocardiography (standard echo), contrast echocardiography (contrast echo), single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and MRI in the determination of left ventricular ejection fraction...
