Comparison of laser irradiation behavior of plasma-sprayed Ba<sub>2−X</sub>Sr<sub>x</sub>SmTaO<sub>6</sub> coatings

With the rapid development of laser technology, protection production equipment and personnel is great necessity. Thermal barrier material has advantages a high threshold low temperature increasing rate that attracts lots concerns. Ba2–xSrxSmTaO6 (x = 0–2) was believed to have potential use as thermal because its conduction good stability. However, damage mechanism still unclear. Thus, in this paper, we investigated compared behaviors well protective thresholds Ba2–xSrxSmTaO6. During irradiation, all five kinds coatings underwent similar processes. The irradiation center turning bright, grain recrystallization, melt. Ba2SmTaO6 0) showed highest 2000 W/cm2 for 10 s, x 0.5 lowest 1000 26 s. BaSrSmTaO6 1) presented value back-surface temperature, only slightly higher than it. In conclusion, best performance Ba2SmTaO6, it be most among components.
