Comparison of Hand Grip Strength Between Vitamin- D Supplemented and Non- Supplemented Hypothyroid Patients.

Vitamin- D deficiency is one of the causes for muscle disorders. The present study was aimed to evaluate performance hand grip strength (HGS) determine dysfunctions in patients with newly diagnosed hypothyroidism. Our objectives are compare results vit-D supplement and without after 8 months’ thyroid therapy. A prospective Eight period carried out among 120 subjects attending Shadan hospital India. About 40 controls were healthy individuals, 80 hypothyroid cases, divided into two equal groups, Age gender-matched as included. three groups divided: Group1-. Vitamin-D supplemented Group-2 supplementation Group-3 controls. TSH, T3 T4 levels estimated by using immunoassay method. Hand assessed dynamometer Minividaas. Statistical analysis done sigma plot 14.5 version. Between Hypothyroid non-supplemented, statistical significance obtained reduced BMI, improved Vitamin-D, reduction not much change T3&T4, HGS. Statistically significant HGS seen high low T3&T4. left &right Standard mean 19.6 & 27.6 15.6 24.56 respectively. found be cases along treatment. We that reasons decrease patients, improves handgrip strength, which major concern concludes beneficial who have decreased
