چکیده
Background: Major goal of orthodontic treatment is long term stability the corrected teeth after treatment. After there always chance relapse. To prevent relapse several appliances are available as a retention device such bonded fixed retainers, vacuum formed removable Hawley retainer, Begg’s retainer. Now days retainer has become more acceptable due to low cost, esthetic and easy fabrication. Objective: The purpose this study was analyze clinical success retainers with vacuumformed far keeping up consequences in lower arch year debond. Methods: This randomized trial (RCT) carried out at department Orthodontics, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka. In total 40 subjects who had fulfilled selection criteria were randomly allocated one two groups, receiving either vacuum-formed or for mandibular arch. Qualification patients approaching debond preadjusted edgewise appliance whose pretreatment records models accessible confirm labial segment crowding spacing clinically alignment principle research adequacy 2 kinds regarding changes incisor irregularity preservation outcome. following measurements documented each time point (6 12 months) digital caliper: Little’s index, intercanine width, intermolar length, extraction space opening. Result: groups very much coordinated age, sex, qualities, plans. Four did not attend follow period finished 36 patients. There statistically significant difference between index length. Vacuum-formed group showed greater than (P value 0.035 0.022). also no any width width. Conclusion: Some likely regardless choice, negligible many Bonded have superior capacity hold arrangement retainers. Trial registration: done. Bangladesh Res Counc Bull 2022; 48: 105-111

Comparison of vacuum-formed and Hawley retainers: a systematic review.
INTRODUCTION Hawley retainers (HRs) and vacuum-formed retainers (VFRs) are the 2 most commonly used retainers in orthodontics. However, the basis for selection of an appropriate retainer is still a matter of debate among orthodontists. In this systematic review, we evaluated the differences between VFRs and HRs. METHODS Electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, ISI Web of Scienc...
متن کاملBonded anterior orthodontic retainers.
Craniofacial growth occurs throughout adulthood for both orthodontically treated and untreated patients.1,2 One aspect of skeletal change is a decrease of the intercanine dimension with an increase in anterior tooth irregularity.3,4 Other factors may contribute to this misalignment, such as the anterior component of force—a vertical occlusal force on posterior teeth creating a horizontal vector...
متن کاملCost-effectiveness and patient satisfaction: Hawley and vacuum-formed retainers.
In the United Kingdom (UK) over the last 10 years, there has been a significant increase in the use of vacuum-formed retainers (VFRs) rather than conventional Hawley retainers. There are currently no data to compare the cost-effectiveness of this change in practice. The two aims of this study were to compare (1) the cost-effectiveness of VFRs and Hawley retainers over 6 months, from the perspec...
متن کاملRebond strength of bonded lingual wire retainers.
There is no consensus in the literature concerning the rebonding procedure for orthodontic retainers. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the bond and rebond strength of retainers bonded to enamel surfaces with and without composite remnants. The retainers were bonded with Excite and Tetric Flow on three different surfaces: clean enamel, enamel where the composite had been removed by...
متن کاملComparison of Wear Resistance of Hawley and Vacuum Formed Retainers: An in-vitro Study
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM As a physical property, wear resistance of the materials used in the fabrication of orthodontic retainers play a significant role in the stability and long term use of the appliances. OBJECTIVES To evaluate the wear resistance of two commonly used materials for orthodontic retainers: Acropars OP, i.e. a polymethyl methacrylate based material, and 3A-GS060, i.e. a polyethy...
