Comparison between the diagnosis of acne vulgaris by teledermatology and face-to-face consultations

Background: Acne vulgaris is a common skin disorder in the pilosebaceous unit that self-limited, especially adolescents. Adam Malik Hospital Medan reported incidence of acne to be 1.10%. Telemedicine has become popular recent years, during COVID-19 pandemic. SAF teledermatology using digital cameras also increased patient service satisfaction, promising diagnostic reliability and clinical outcomes similar face-to-face visits. This study aimed compare teledermatology's test parameters accuracy consultations diagnosing vulgaris.Methods: was an observational analytic with cross-sectional design involving 110 suspected vulgaris. The characteristics sex age were recorded. resident established diagnosis directly teledermatologically by consultant based on photo documentation 5 facial lesion areas, namely forehead, chin, right cheek, left entire face, along photos from history submitted resident. Diagnostic tests carried out, including sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative accuracy, agreement test.Results: more women (76 patients, 69.1%) patients aged 18-22 years (55 50%). Of 105 diagnosed teledermatology. Teledermatology showed 100% accuracy. between 1, indicating favorable agreement.Conclusion: There no significant difference through consultations.
