چکیده
ABSTRACT: This study aimed to report the hematological and biochemical changes caused by conventional metronomic chemotherapies, using vincristine sulfate treat canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT). Twelve dogs were selected, six of them for group receiving chemotherapy (G1), (G2). The G1 received once a week at dose 0.75mg/m² until tumor had disappeared with treatment, G2 was treated three times 0.25mg/m2 disappeared. Before after blood tests performed evaluate main alterations both chemotherapeutic models. Dogs undergoing significant leukocyte (p<0.05), causing neutropenia leukopenia. In chemotherapy, leukocytes remained within reference range. Half in normochromic, normocytic anemia. only alteration observed increase urea G2. Thus, treatment TVT proved be an excellent method fewer adverse effects, especially maintaining leukogram normal range reducing number anemia animals during treatment.

Introduction Transmissible venereal tumor (TVT), also known as infectious sarcoma, venereal granuloma, transmissible lymphosarcoma or Sticker tumor, is a benign reticuloendothelial tumor of the dog that mainly affects the external genitalia (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2) and occasionally the internal genitalia (Fig. 3a, Fig. 3b, and Fig. 3c). As it is usually transmitted during coitus [1] it mainly occurs...
متن کاملCytomorphological Study of Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor
Introduction Canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT) is classified as a round cell tumor. It always revealed in round to ovoid shaped cell, moderate amount of vacuolated cytoplasm with a large round to ovoid nucleus and prominent nucleoli (2). However, Amaral et al. (2007) reported that CTVT cytomorphology was classified into three types according to the majority of cell type population: pla...

Canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT) is a transplantable neoplasm that has stimulated much scientific effort to determine its cell of origin, mode of transmission, and reasons for spontaneous regression as well as similarities with other types of animal and human cancers. In 1994, on the basis of the hypothesis that different cytomorphologic types of CTVT may have different biologic behav...
