چکیده
This study aimed to compare and evaluate the toxicity of co-composting process pistachio dehulling waste combined with municipal sewage sludge (PW + SS) date-palm straw (PS SS). The was evaluated over a 60-day period. During process, physicochemical parameters (temperature, humidity, pH, electrical conductivity (EC), carbon nitrogen ratio (C/N), ash, volatile organic matter (VOM)), microbial indicators (Escherichia coli, Salmonella, parasite eggs), heavy metals (copper, zinc, iron, manganese, lead, cadmium, nickel), germination index were measured. In PW SS reactor, maximum temperature reached 59 °C on 32nd day in PS 39 18th day. pH level minimum 3.2 14th then increased finally 9.5. had an increasing trend 7.1. Ash content 27.5% 19.1% SS. EC, C/N, VOM both reactors significant decreasing trend. E. coli indicator decreased from ≥ 105 zero at end process. Toxicity assessment showed that compost less toxic than compost.

Heavy Metals Removal from Sewage Sludge and Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) by Co-Composting Process
Background & Aims of the Study: One of the most important pollutants in drinking water, air and soils is heavy metals. It is very harmful for humans and other live organisms. The purpose of this study was the usage of a co-composting process for removal of heavy metals from municipal solid waste and sewage sludge. Materials and Methods: This experimental study was a condu...
متن کاملTwo culture approaches used to determine the co-composting stages by assess of the total microflora changes during sewage sludge and date palm waste co-composting
Indigenous microflora community changes during six months of co-composting of activated sewage sludge and date palm waste was investigated using two different culture approaches. In order to evaluate the co-composting process evolution for mixture A and B, growth standard media (GSM) and Compost Time Extract Agar (CTEA) are used. Enumeration for indigenous flora abundance on GSM medium shows th...
متن کاملComparison of methods for evaluating stability and maturity of co-composting of municipal solid wastes and sewage sludge in semi-arid pedo-climatic condition
The step of maturation (around 60 days) appeared less active as compared to the first step of pre-fermentation (around 90 days) since the values of temperature, recorded during the second step of maturation, are found generally less important than those recorded during the first step. A similar tendency of C/N ratio values decrease is generally observed in the two piles of wastes during the two...

Co-pelletization of sewage sludge and agricultural wastes.
This paper concerns the process of production and properties of pellets based on biomass wastes. Co-pelletization was performed for sewage sludge from municipal wastewater treatment plant and other biomass material such as animal and olive wastes. The aim of the present study was to identify the key factors affecting on the sewage sludge and agricultural residues co-pelletization processes cond...
