چکیده

Background: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a major cause of blindness in working-age individuals the developed countries. Studies have found that diabetic macular edema (DME) visual impairment patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) plays an important role pathogenesis DME. Material and Methods: Eighty-two (153 eyes) DME were divided into two treatment groups. Group 1 (37 patients, 68 was treated injections anti-VEGF agent brolucizumab according to one plus pro re nata (PRN) regimen (once as needed) only, whereas group 2 (45 85 received combination “one PRN” therapy subthreshold micropulse laser exposure (SMPLE). Before after treatment, comprehensive ophthalmological examination performed, including best-corrected acuity (BCVA) height retinal central fovea assessed by optical coherence tomography. The parameters at 1, 3, 6 12 months treatment. Results: percentage no need for additional substantially higher combined than monotherapy (68.5% versus 12%, respectively, p <0.001). Conclusion: (intravitreal SMPLE) effective 68.5% cases within months. In this way, steady resorption accomplished through antivasoproliferative prolonged effects SMPLE session.

Comparison of subthreshold diode laser micropulse therapy versus conventional photocoagulation laser therapy as primary treatment of diabetic macular edema

PURPOSE The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of subthreshold diode laser micropulse (SDM) in comparison with conventional laser photocoagulation in the treatment of the diabetic macular edema (DME). METHODS Sixty-eight eyes from 68 patients with clinically significant DME were divided randomly into two equal groups. In the first group, SDM photocoagulation was employed, ...

Subthreshold micropulse diode laser treatment in diabetic macular oedema.

BACKGROUND/AIM Enlargement of laser scars after retinal argon laser photocoagulation can give rise to deterioration in visual acuity. Subthreshold micropulse diode laser may decrease this risk. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of subthreshold micropulse diode laser (810 nm) and conventional argon laser (514 nm) photocoagulation for the treatment of clinically significant m...

The Short-term Efficacy of Subthreshold Micropulse Yellow (577-nm) Laser Photocoagulation for Diabetic Macular Edema

PURPOSE This pilot study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of subthreshold micropulse yellow (577-nm) laser photocoagulation (SMYLP) in the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME). METHODS We reviewed 14 eyes of 12 patients with DME who underwent SMYLP with a 15% duty cycle at an energy level immediately below that of the test burn. The laser exposure time was 20 ms and the spot dia...

SUBTHRESHOLD MICROPULSE DIODE LASER VERSUS CONVENTIONAL LASER PHOTOCOAGULATION FOR DIABETIC MACULAR EDEMA: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.

PURPOSE To evaluate the relative efficacy of subthreshold micropulse diode laser versus conventional laser photocoagulation for the treatment of diabetic macular edema. METHODS A comprehensive literature search was conducted to find relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Efficacy estimates were determined by comparing weighted mean differences of the mean change of best-corrected visua...

Subthreshold diode-laser micropulse photocoagulation as a primary and secondary line of treatment in management of diabetic macular edema

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to evaluate subthreshold diode-laser micropulse (SDM) photocoagulation as a primary and secondary line of treatment for clinically significant diabetic macular edema (CSDME). METHODS In this prospective nonrandomized case series, 220 cases of nonischemic CSDME were managed primarily and secondarily by SDM photocoagulation on a 15% duty cycle with a mea...
