چکیده
Water safety is a prerequisite for sustainable global quantitative and qualitative development. Heavy metal pollution has become major problem in our environment, where traditional heavy processing techniques were unsuccessful expensive. In this study, biochar magnetite have been used as an efficient, low-cost, safe, environmentally friendly method removal such cadmium. The prepared from palm fronds then activated by sodium hydroxide before treatment with two concentrations (5 ppm 10 ppm) of cadmium the water. (BC) had positive effect on improving efficiency removing (II). percentage to remove was 98% when we added 0.5 g solution. On other hand, composite materials mixing at mole ratio (2:1) prepare magnetite-biochar (MBC). A property adding Fe3O4 biochar, which led activation effective aggregates significant improvement adsorption performance metals while increasing up 100%.

Due to its wide occurrence in water resources and toxicity, pharmaceuticals and personal care products are becoming an emerging concern throughout the world. Application of residual/waste materials for water remediation can be a good strategy in waste management as well as in waste valorization. Herein, this dataset provides information on biochar application for the removal of emerging contami...
متن کاملCan Biochar and Phytoextractors Be Jointly Used for Cadmium Remediation?
Phytoremediation of soils contaminated with cadmium was tested after liming (CaO) or biochar addition, using red amaranth (Amaranthus tricolor L.) as test plant species. Two biochars with contrasting characteristics were prepared from two feedstocks and added to the soil at a rate of 3% (w:w): Eucalyptus pyrolysed at 600°C (EB) and poultry litter at 400°C (PLB). Liming was carried out in two tr...
متن کاملAdsorption of sulfamethoxazole on biochar and its impact on reclaimed water irrigation.
Reclaimed water irrigation can satisfy increasing water demand, but it may also introduce pharmaceutical contaminants into the soil and groundwater environment. In this work, a range of laboratory experiments were conducted to test whether biochar can be amended in soils to enhance removal of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) from reclaimed water. Eight types of biochar were tested in laboratory sorption ...

In this work, orange (Citrus sinensis) peels biochar (OPBC) were prepared by one-step H2SO4 activation for Methylene Blue (MB) adsorption from aqueous solution. The physicochemical properties of OPBC were characterized using instrumental analyses such as CHNS-O analyzer, Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffract...
متن کاملAtrazine leaching from biochar-amended soils.
The herbicide atrazine is used extensively throughout the United States, and is a widespread groundwater and surface water contaminant. Biochar has been shown to strongly sorb organic compounds and could be used to reduce atrazine leaching. We used lab and field experiments to determine biochar impacts on atrazine leaching under increasingly heterogeneous soil conditions. Application of pine ch...
