چکیده
The cattle tick Rhipicephalus microplus is one of the most important ectoparasites for livestock in tropical and subtropical areas worldwide. This hurts economy milk meat production chain. In addition, it constitutes a vector transmission Anaplasmosis Babesiosis pathogens. control R. populations mainly based on use synthetic acaricides. However, using this method presents danger to humans environment leads emergence resistant populations. situation, searching ecological effective alternatives essential. Thus, plant extracts constitute promising solution, particularly essential oils their active compounds. present study aims assess acaricidal activity two monoterpenes (Thymol 1.8 cineole) abundantly found find an alternative was determined according larval immersion test (LIT). Eight concentrations were tested R software version 4.0.3 used data analysis. Results showed 100 % mortality rates with LC50 LC90 values (0.28 0.64) (0.64 2.66) respectively, thymol cineole time 5 min. For 10 min immersion, all LC decreased monoterpenes. These findings highlight potential as managing tick.

The acaricidal effect of seven essential oils was examined in vitro against the cattle tick (Rhipicephalus microplus). Engorged female ticks were manually collected in farms of Southern Brazil and placed into petri dishes (n = 10) in order to test the following oils: juniper (Juniperus communis), palmarosa (Cymbopogon martinii), cedar (Cedrus atlantica), lemon grass (Cymbopogon citratus), ginge...

The tick Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus (formerly Boophilus microplus) is the major ectoparasite affecting livestock in America, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Conventional tick control is based on the use of acaricides but immunization of bovines with tick gut proteins induces only a partial protective immune response. Based on this information, distinct research groups have explored the poss...

The Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus complex currently consists of five taxa, namely R. australis, R. annulatus, R. (B.) microplus clade A sensu, R. microplus clade B sensu, and R. (B.) microplus clade C sensu. Mitochondrial DNA-based methods help taxonomists when they are facing the morpho-taxonomic problem of distinguishing members of the R. (B.) microplus complex. The purpose of this stud...

Two distant Antioquian cattle farms where systemic and topical acaricides had previously failed to control infestations by Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus were studied. An initial in vivo study was conducted using single subcutaneous injections with a long-acting formulation of ivermectin (630 μg/kg). Injections were made at 3-month intervals on animals at each farm to evaluate the therapeu...
