Comparative Screening of Phytochemicals and Bioactive Compounds of Trema orientalis (Linn. Blume) Leaf and Bark Extracts

چکیده
This study compared the phytochemical constituents of leaf with Bark extracts T. orientalis, using same extraction solvents. The and orientalis were harvested at Federal University Technology, Akure forest, dried pulverized into powder. Extract prepared from powdered plants Methanol N-hexane. qualitative quantitative presents in determined. functional compounds extract determined by Fourier Transmission Infrared Spectrometry (FT-IR). Percentage yield was better than N-hexane for both plant parts. phytochemicals revealed includes: Tannins, Saponins, Flavonoids, Steroids, terpenoids cardiac glycosides. Steroids are present Leaf but absent extract, while Saponin is only methanol plant. Quantitative analysis that have highest amount 22.90 ± 0.03 mg/g 28.09 0.07 N-hexane, has 22.22 0.09 23.38 0.04 extracts. Higher quantity Transformed spectrometry analysis, FT-IR, unveiled organic available extracts, which are: aliphatic primary alcohol, secondary amine, alkane, alkene, carbon dioxide, deta-lactam, phenol, halo compound. These results indicate promising choice medicinal therapeutic research.
