Comparative Optical and Thermal Analysis of Compound Parabolic Solar Collector with Fixed and Variable Concentration Ratio

Solar thermal collectors, such as flat plate and evacuated tube are used for maximum of 60–80 °C temperature parabolic trough collectors 700–900 ranges. It is needed to develop analyze solar compound (CPC) which can operate in an intermediate range from 50–300 industrial domestic applications. However, optical performance CPC strongly influenced by concentration ratio. The current study presents a comparative analysis with fixed (4) variable (4.5 5.7) ratio using model-based transient simulation approach. Two profiles collector analyzed the subtropical climate Taxila, Pakistan. 2D both modeled designed MATLAB then optically Monte Carlo ray tracing technique through TracePro. In addition, also performed ANSYS. resulting efficiencies 72% 79%, respectively. Whereas achieved 352 K 367 K, Thus, it concluded that much better compared value.
