چکیده

Introduction: Chronic Periodontitis is an infectious disease resulting in inflammation within the supporting tissues of teeth leading to progressive attachment and bone loss. Biochemical mediators oral fluids like saliva gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) are highly beneficial determination current periodontal status. Aim & objective: A comparative evaluation GCF salivary sclerostin levels chronic periodontitis patients with or without type 2 diabetes mellitus Methodology: total 36 subjects age group 30-60 years were categorised into three groups. Group I (Healthy individuals) II (chronic patients) III mellitus). During first visit clinical parameters Plaque index, Gingival Probing pocket depth Clinical level recorded. On subsequent day samples collected subjected for laboratory analysis using ELISA kit. Results tabulated statistical analysis. Discussion: The differences Sclerostin Saliva between groups not statistically significant (P = 0.089). =0.000). Conclusion: a promising diagnostic prognostic biomarker diseases.

Serum levels of interleukin-23 and 35 in patients with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic periodontitis

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and chronic periodontitis (CP) show common pathophysiological features. We investigated the serum levels of IL-23 and IL-35 in people with type 2 DM and CP. Methods: In a cross-sectional study, 72 patients were divided into four equal groups: group A, participants without type 2 DM and CP; group B, patients with type 2 DM without CP; group C, patients ...

Gingival crevicular fluid levels of interleukin-1beta and glycemic control in patients with chronic periodontitis and type 2 diabetes.

BACKGROUND Patients with diabetes have increased incidence and severity of periodontal disease not accounted for by differences in the subgingival microbial infection. Poor glycemic control has been consistently associated with periodontal disease severity. Also, recent evidence suggests that hyperglycemia may induce inflammatory cytokine production. Few studies, however, have examined local bi...

Effect of scaling and root planing on levels of 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine in gingival crevicular fluid of chronic periodontitis patients with and without Type II diabetes mellitus

Context Chronic periodontitis (CP) and diabetes mellitus are associated with increased oxidative damage to DNA with formation of 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG). The aim of this study was to evaluate the change in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) levels of 8-OHdG and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) by 3 months after scaling and root planing (SRP), in CP patients with and without Type II diabete...

Impact of scaling and root planing on C-reactive protein levels in gingival crevicular fluid and serum in chronic periodontitis patients with or without diabetes mellitus

PURPOSE The present study was conducted to evaluate the impact of scaling and root planing (SRP) on the C-reactive protein (CRP) levels of gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and serum in chronic periodontitis patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM-CP) or without type 2 diabetes mellitus (NDM-CP). METHODS Forty-eight human participants were divided into two groups: an experimental (T2DM-CP)...

Comparing Gingival Crevicular Fluid Visfatin Levels Between Patients with Endometrial Cancer and Chronic Periodontitis and Healthy Controls

Background and purpose: The association between periodontal diseases and endometrial cancer (EC) has been assessed in some studies but the probable role of inflammatory factors such as visfatin is unknown. This study aimed at evaluating the levels of visfatin in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) in patients with EC and chronic periodontitis (CP) to address this gap. Materials and methods: In a ...
