چکیده
Vishamusthi (Strychnos nux-vomica Linn.), a medicinal plant described as Upavisha (semi-poisonous) group of Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia India. has widely been used and being practiced in several illness namely nervous debility, paralysis, weakness limbs, sexual weakness, dyspepsia etc. Ayurveda practices strictly recommend the use therapeutics only after proper shodhana (purificatory procedure) through specific medias such Gomutra (cow’s urine), Godugdha milk), Goghrita ghee), Although various procedures are recommended treatise, but updated scientific researches regarding methods lacking. The present study was undertaken to investigate physicochemical phytochemical parameters, quantitative estimation brucine using cutting edge research tools high-performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC), liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) gas (GC-MS) analyses seeds before purification. remarkable changes have observed different HPTLC, HPLC, GC-MS LC-MS chromatographic profiling process seeds. Quantitative HPLC studies revealed that resulted depletion toxic (chief poisonous constituent seeds) reduced 79.66% chloroform extract 64.54% ethanol process.
