چکیده
Computational analysis of nucleate boiling occurring in liquid cooled applications, such as internal combustion engines is often implemented within a single phase Fluid Dynamics (CFD) framework, owing to low vapor fractions involved. With increase specific power and the resulting higher thermal loads, accounting for presence using multiphase framework required certain conditions, despite computational costs. While detailed resolution phases two fluid model excessively computationally expensive, homogeneous mixture good compromise between cost. In this article numerical wall both, frameworks. Results from approaches are compared with measurements channel flow. The results both agreement experiments. approximation valid when generation low. sensitivity grid also discussed detail. Further frameworks used simulate heat transfer coolant jacket four-cylinder petrol engine. simulations measurements. Both compare reasonably well terms local metal temperature.
