چکیده

Abstract Measurement the viscoelastic properties is important for studying developmental and pathological behavior of soft biological tissues. Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) a non-invasive method in vivo measurement tissue viscoelasticity. As flexible capable testing small samples, indentation has been widely used characterizing Using 2nd-order Prony series dimensional analysis, we analyzed compared model parameters estimated from both MRE. Conversions two methods were established. We found that indention test better at capturing dynamic response tissues frequency less than 10 Hz, while MRE describing responses relatively higher range. The results provided helpful information using models are also quantifying Graphic

Viscoelastic properties of liver measured by oscillatory rheometry and multifrequency magnetic resonance elastography.

The mechanical properties of liver can sensitively indicate the progression of hepatic fibrosis. Mechanical tissue characterization involves the analysis of the complex shear modulus measured either by oscillatory rheometry or by in vivo elastography. In this study, bovine liver specimens were investigated by oscillatory rheometry and multifrequency magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) in a co...

Measurement of Viscoelastic Properties of Condensed Matter using Magnetic Resonance Elastography

Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) is a phase contrast technique that provides a non-invasive means of evaluating the viscoelastic properties of soft condensed matter. This has a profound bio-medical significance as it allows for the virtual palpation of areas of the body usually not accessible to the hands of a medical practitioner, such as the brain. Applications of MRE are not restricted ...

Numerical simulations of magnetic resonance elastography using finite element analysis with a linear heterogeneous viscoelastic model

Abstract Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) is a technique to identify the viscoelastic moduli of biological tissues by solving the inverse problem from the displacement field of viscoelastic wave propagation in a tissue measured by MRI. Because finite element analysis (FEA) of MRE evaluates not only the viscoelastic model for a tissue but also the efficiency of the inversion algorithm, we d...

Tabletop magnetic resonance elastography for the measurement of viscoelastic parameters of small tissue samples.

We demonstrate the feasibility of low-cost tabletop MR elastography (MRE) for quantifying the complex shear modulus G(∗) of small soft biological tissue samples as provided by pathologists. The MRE system was developed based on a tabletop MRI scanner equipped with a 0.5 T permanent magnet and a tissue sample holder mounted to a loudspeaker. A spin echo sequence was enhanced with motion-encoding...

Dynamic Magnetic Resonance Elastography

There is strong precedent in clinical medicine for the concept that tissue viscoelastic properties, assessed by palpation, are markedly affected by a variety of disease processes. Student physicians learn that the presence of a hard mass in the thyroid, breast, or prostate is suspicious for malignancy. Indeed, many tumors of these structures are still first detected by touch. It is not uncommon...
