Comparative analysis of electrospun PNIPAAm blends with some biodegradable polymers

In this work, electrospun fibers of poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate)/poly(N-isopropylacrylamide), PBAT /PNIPAAm, and ecovio®/PNIPAAm blends were obtained. These presented a thermoresponsive behavior including sudden response to temperature variation between 32 35 ºC. The addition PNIPAAm ecovio® solutions significantly improved the electrospinability both as blends, allowing them form rounded without defects with diameters varying 1000 1700 nm. analysis attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) spectra for PBAT/PNIPAAm revealed that electrospinning process does not lead formation strong intermolecular interactions, such hydrogen bonds, constituents studied blends’ fibers. Significant drop water contact angle function was observed fibers; PNIPAAm’s hydrophilic-hydrophobic transition in range Comparing fibers, former be more temperature-sensitive than latter, regarding changes wettability larger gaps values compared latter. With these results, may have potential application field cell adhesion/detachment.
