Compact, Broadband, and Omnidirectional Antenna Array for Millimeter-Wave Communication Systems

In this paper, a millimeter-wave printed quadrupole antenna is proposed. It consists of two symmetric dipoles that make the radiating power omnidirectionally. Such an arrangement eliminates influence ground as reflector. Simulation results show exhibits broad impedance bandwidth and enhanced gain compared to conventional dipoles. More interestingly, configuration includes integrated feed network, making design compact. Next, novel omnidirectional array was designed, simulated, fabricated, measured, exhibiting features like compactness, bandwidth, high gain, efficiency, low cross-polarization, cross-polarization level, cost, profile.
