Commissive Illocutionary Acts Found in Na’ima Robert’s She Wore Red Trainers

This study aims to find out the commissive illocutionary acts which are implied by characters in novel She Wore Red Trainers (2014) Na’ima Robert. It identify types of found selected novel. uses a descriptive- qualitative method examine collected data. The data utterances from text These classified on basis speech act theories Austin (1962) and Searle (1969), into three acts: offering, promising refusing acts. results this revealed that there 10 novel: 5 offering utterances, 4 1 utterance. Since observes reveal their meanings, it is recommended similar studies be conducted other fictions.
