Comment to "Porphyry-related high-sulfidation mineralization early in Central American Arc Development: Cerro Quema deposit, Azuero Peninsula, Panama" by Perelló et al., (2020)

چکیده
The Cerro Quema Au-Cu deposit is hosted by a dacite dome complex of the Río Formation, Late Campanian-Maastrichtian volcano-sedimentary sequence Panamanian magmatic arc. Its formational age constrained at ~49 Ma field evidences, crosscutting relationships and 40Ar/39Ar geochronology (Corral et al., 2016, Corral, 2021). recent molybdenite Re-Os dates Perelló al. (2020) claim that ore spatially temporally related to host volcanic domes ~71 Ma. After thorough review geologic, geochemical geochronological data from area, it concluded are not representative age. Their proposed significantly older than rock (~67 Ma). Furthermore, they invoke previously unrecognized regional-scale event solely based on their dates. Instead, genetic model discussed here, in which magmatic-hydrothermal fluids derived porphyry copper-like intrusions associated with Valle Rico batholith produced mineralization Ma, consistent geology, geochemistry Azuero Peninsula.

Modeling hantavirus reservoir species dominance in high seroprevalence areas on the Azuero Peninsula of Panama.
Habitat fragmentation commonly influences distribution of zoonotic disease reservoirs. In Panama, populations of rodent hosts of hantaviruses are favored by small habitat fragments isolated by agricultural lands. We expected a similar relationship between landscape characteristics and host distribution at fine geographical scales in southern Panama. The relative abundance of Zygodontomys brevic...

We would like to thank Clinical Science for the opportunity to respond to the letter [1] which suggests that while we have been able to show that PTP1B inhibitor, trodusquemine, decreases atherosclerotic plaque size as well as serum triglycerides and cholesterol, that we have not shown that it reverses the plaque size, using in vivo imaging techniques such as MRI scanning or ultrasound. Both Ld...
متن کاملReply to Comment by Young et al.
Had our study been, as Young et al. imply, a data trawling exercise using hundreds of variables to look for a 'thread', then doubts about its validity might be justified. However, their account of our work bears little relationship to the methods, results or conclusions we report. For example, Young et al. claim that we used 396 tests to address our primary hypothesis. In fact, we used two. You...
متن کاملLandsat ETM+ Imaging for the Exploration of Epithermal Deposits in the Azuero Peninsula (Panama)
Remote sensing can be understood as the science, technology and art of acquiring, processing, and interpreting airborne or spaceborne images that record the interaction between matter and electromagnetic energy (Sabins, 1997, Aranoff, 2005). Nowadays a plethora of satellites surrounding the earth provides continuous sets of data of quite different nature used for navigation, positioning, meteor...
متن کاملComment (2) on “Formation of the Isthmus of Panama” by O’Dea et al.
O'Dea et al. challenged the inference that the Isthmus of Panama has been in place for the last 10 million years or more and from "an exhaustive review and reanalysis of geological, paleontological, and molecular records," they argued for a "formation of the Isthmus of Panama sensu stricto around 2.8 Ma." I review environmental changes since ~5 Ma throughout Earth, and I argue that environmenta...
