چکیده

The development of compression ignition engines depends mainly on using alternative fuels, such as alcohols. paper presents the results tests a stationary engine fueled with mixtures diesel oil and n-butanol an energy share from 0 to 60%. combustion emission dual-fuel were compared conventional diesel-only engine. As part work, process, including changes in pressure heat release rate, well exhaust emissions test engine, investigated. main operational parameters determined, mean indicated pressure, thermal efficiency specific consumption. Moreover, stability operation was analyzed. research shows that 60% addition fuel increases delay (by 39%) shortens duration 57%). In addition, up 40%, it increased pmax, HRRmax PPRmax. characterized by highest efficiency, equal 41.35% when operating DB40. whole range alcohol content, stable. With increase content NOx increased. lowest concentration CO obtained during DB50. After initial (for DB20), THC reduced value for Increasing resulted significant, more than 43 times, reduction soot emissions.

Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine fueled with Diesel-biodiesel-JP-4 Blends

The main objective of this research is to study the effects of JP-4-biodiesel-diesel fuel blends and operating parameters on the emission characteristics of a CI engine. The experimental tests were performed on a four-cylinder DI diesel engine. The Mixture-RSM method was used to develop mathematical models based on experimental data. The results showed that with the increase of the biodiesel pr...

Combustion Characteristics of CI Engine Running with Biodiesel Blends

Biodiesel is one of the promising renewable, alternative and environmentally friendly biofuels that can be used in diesel engine with little or no modification in the engine. In the present study an experimental investigation has been carried out on the combustion and performance characteristics of a CI engine running with biodiesel under steady state operating conditions. The experimental work...

Combustion, performance and emission characteristics of a DI diesel engine fueled with Brassica juncea methyl ester and its blends

In this study, mustard biodiesel (B100) was produced from low quality crude mustard oil and tested in a four-cylinder, direct-injection, diesel engine to investigate the combustion, performance and emission characteristics of the engine at different engine speeds and full load conditions. Biodiesel and its blends showed increased peak cylinder pressure and reduced ignition delay when compared t...

Comparison of performance and combustion parameters in a heavy-duty diesel engine fueled with iso-butanol/diesel fuel blends

This study discusses the suitability of iso-butanol/diesel fuel blends as an alternative fuel and determines their effects on the performance and combustion characteristics of a heavy-duty diesel engine. For this purpose, various isobutanol/diesel fuel blends containing 5%, 10% and 15% iso-butanol were prepared in volume basis and tested in a turbo-charged, six-cylinder direct injection diesel ...

Theoretical and Experimental Analysis of OM314 Diesel Engine Combustion and Performance Characteristics Fueled with DME

Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) combustion is a pioneer method of combustion in which pre-mixed fuel and oxidizer (typically air) are compressed to the point of auto-ignition. HCCI engines can operate with most alternative fuels, especially, dimethyl ether (DME) which has been tested as a possible diesel fuel due to its simultaneously low NOx and PM emissions. In this paper a ...
