چکیده
This work performs an analysis of plasma-assisted non-premixed H2-air flames in Y-shaped micro combustors the presence field emission dielectric barrier discharge (FE-DBD) plasma actuators. The combustion, flow, and heat transfer characteristics are numerically investigated, effect sinusoidal discharges on combustion performance is examined at various equivalence ratios (φ). A coupled chemical kinetic model implemented, using a zero-dimensional based solution Boltzmann equation ZDPlasKin toolbox to compute net charges radical generation rates. estimated body forces, production rates, power densities regions then with hydrogen microchannel. Plasma-assisted reveals improvements flame length maximum gas temperature. results demonstrate that FE-DBDs can enhance mixing complete unreacted fuel, preventing extinction. It shown even cases thermal quenching, these actuators essential for stabilizing flame.

Plasma-assisted combustion*
This paper presents an overview of experimental and numerical investigations of the nonequilibrium cold plasma generated under high overvoltage and further usage of this plasma for plasma-assisted combustion. Here, two different types of the discharge are considered: a streamer under high pressure and the so-called fast ionization wave (FIW) at low pressure. The comprehensive experimental inves...
متن کاملCombustion characteristics of hydrogen–air premixed gas in a sub-millimeter scale catalytic combustor
A sub-millimeter scale catalytic combustor was fabricated. Platinum catalyst coated on a porous ceramics support was placed in the combustion chamber. The chamber, sized 10 10 1:5 mm was covered with a GaAs window which is transparent to infrared radiation. The conversion rate was measured using gas chromatography. The temperature distribution in the combustion chamber was measured with an infr...
متن کاملPhysics and chemistry of plasma-assisted combustion.
There are several mechanisms that affect a gas when using discharge plasma to initiate combustion or to stabilize a flame. There are two thermal mechanisms-the homogeneous and inhomogeneous heating of the gas due to 'hot' atom thermalization and vibrational and electronic energy relaxation. The homogeneous heating causes the acceleration of the chemical reactions. The inhomogeneous heating gene...
متن کاملDNS of droplet evaporation and combustion in a swirling combustor
Turbulent multi-phase combustion is encountered in a number of engineering applications, such as internal combustion engines and gas-turbine aircraft engines. Therefore, the ability to perform accurate numerical simulations of these systems is of paramount importance to improve their design and efficiency. However, the underlying physics of spray combustion are extremely complicated. The liquid...
متن کاملLarge eddy simulation of propane combustion in a planar trapped vortex combustor
Propane combustion in a trapped vortex combustor (TVC) is characterized via large eddy simulation coupled with filtered mass density function. A computational algorithm based on high order finite difference (FD) schemes, is employed to solve the Eulerian filtered compressible Navier-Stokes equations. In contrast, a Lagrangian Monte-Carlo solver based on the filtered mass density function is inv...
