Color Glass by Layered Nitride Films for Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) System

چکیده
We investigated layered titanium nitride (TiN) and aluminum (AlN) for color glasses in building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) systems. AlN TiN are among suitable cost-effective optical materials to be used as thin multilayer films, owing the significant difference their refractive index. To fabricate structure, we radio frequency magnetron deposition method achieve target thickness uniformly. A simple, fast, cheap fabrication is achieved by depositing films a single sputtering chamber. It demonstrated that stack allows light transmitted from low index layer high or vice-versa can effectively create various distinct reflections different film thicknesses structures. simulation based on wave optics TiN/AlN offers better design freedom cheaper process compared AlN/TiN films. Blue, green, yellow with transmittance of more than 80% was indium tin oxide (ITO)-coated glass/TiN/AlN This technology exhibits good potential commercial BIPV system applications.

The widespread use of building integrated photovoltaics appears likely as a result of the continuing decline in photovoltaic manufacturing costs, the relative ease in which photovoltaics can be incorporated within the building envelope, and the fact that buildings account for over 40 percent of the U.S. energy consumption. However, designers, architects, installers, and consumers need more info...

To date, none of the predictions that have been made about the emerging BIPV industry have really hit the target. The anticipated boom has so far stalled and despite developing and promoting a number of excellent systems and products, many producers around the world have been forced to quit on purely economic grounds. The authors believe that after this painful cleansing of the market, a massiv...
