Abstract Sete-capote tree, a neglected species, has great ecological, cultural and potential economic importance, however, studies for this other native species of the Myrtaceae family are still scarce. The objective study was to elucidate aspects pollen germination viability specie. For experiment, from flowers in pre post anthesis used, which dehydrated chamber containing silica, different periods. tests, concentrations sucrose, boric acid calcium nitrate were used. After obtaining results above 80%, grains stored refrigerator (5 °C), freezer (-17 liquid nitrogen (-147 °C) natural environment (± 25 evaluating monthly germination, until total loss viability. it recommend using post-anthesis, 24 hours silica chamber. culture medium should contain 12% sucrose (C12H22O11), 10% (H3BO3) 20% (Ca(NO3)2) obtain high germinative percentages. In addition, presents orthodox behavior when nitrogen, remains viable 30 days.
