Statistical Signal Processing for Synthetic Aperture Radar
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) currently has problems in the processing that lead to smearing of the image. We have developed a new method of processing the data using maximum likelihood theory that will remove the smearing leading to superior images. The goal of this project was to write a MATLAB program to simulate a SAR system to test the new processing method.
متن کاملFFT Signal processing for non-coherent radar systems
Coherent and non-coherent radar detection of moving targets is analyzed and expressions relating the post-video-detection moving target signal-tonoise ratio to the pre-video-detection moving target signal-to-noise and clutter-to-noise ratios are obtained for non-coherent detection. The effect of processing this resulting real (non-coherent) signal with an FFT processor is then analyzed and comp...
متن کاملStatistical Signal Processing Project: PC-Based Acoustic Radar
The purpose of this project is to demonstrate some fundamental issues in detection and estimation. The project consists of theoretical tasks as well as computer simulations and laboratory-scale experiments. As an illustrative example, an acoustic radar system is used. The ambition is to make this work without using any special hardware, but merely a standard sound card that comes with any moder...
متن کاملSoftware Radar Signal Processing
Software infrastructure is a growing part of modern radio science systems. As part of developing a generic infrastructure for implementing Software Radar systems, we have developed a set of reusable signal processing components. These components are generic software based implementations for use on general purpose computing systems. The components allow for the implementation of signal processi...
متن کاملCognitive Radar Signal Processing
Cognitive radar is a new paradigm to conceive the next radar generation characterized by unique and amazing features inspired to mental abilities and processes related to knowledge. Introduced by Haykin [1] and Guerci [2], it is attracting huge attention within the radar community during the last few years. The key concept is that radar system performance can be enhanced through a continuous an...
