Coherent manipulation of nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond via frequency multiplication

چکیده
Nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond as ideally individual spin quantum systems can be coherently manipulated by microwave fields. Compared to the traditional method using IQ (In-phase/Quadrature) mixer with a local oscillator and intermediate-frequency (IF) signals, we report an effective technically simple generate required field frequency multiplication realize coherent manipulation of NV center’s electron spin. After multiplication, IF signal directly converted high-frequency adjustable pulse width, frequency, phase, amplitude. A series dynamics applications such Rabi oscillation, free induction decay, spin-locking are executed, which verified its performance feasibility. Frequency overcome problem clock synchronization between greatly reduce complexity experimental system. The easily used more complex control sequence dynamic decoupling extended wide range spin-based information future.

Mechanical spin control of nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond.
We demonstrate direct coupling between phonons and diamond nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center spins by driving spin transitions with mechanically generated harmonic strain at room temperature. The amplitude of the mechanically driven spin signal varies with the spatial periodicity of the stress standing wave within the diamond substrate, verifying that we drive NV center spins mechanically. These spi...

This thesis summarizes experiments conducted to develop a high sensitivity vector magnetometer using nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers in a bulk diamond sample. This project began by analyzing the sensitivity of a single NV orientation using a continuous wave electron spin resonance approach. A protocol for determining the diamond's orientation was developed to map vector magnetic field readings in...

متن کاملSingle nitrogen vacancy centers in chemical vapor deposited diamond nanocrystals.
Nanodiamond crystals containing single color centers have been grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). The fluorescence from individual crystallites was directly correlated with crystallite size using a combined atomic force and scanning confocal fluorescence microscope. Under the conditions employed, the optimal size for single optically active nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center incorporation was ...
