Cognitive “warning signs” in human trafficking media texts

This paper focuses on image schema manifestations in media texts human trafficking, which may perform the role of “warning” signals anti-trafficking campaigns. For this, a conceptual analysis was done to establish profiled schemas, and survey conducted measure readerʼs response two types trafficking (HT), different genre schemata organ-isation. The were selected as experimental material representing typical discourse. participants divided into control (G1) (G2) groups according type text they exposed to. G1 read an expository (T1) G2 narrative (T2). respondents showed significant tendency for higher degree involvement problem when reading T2 contrasted responses T1. identified their reaction feeling being danger. Looking back T2, it clear that reacted verbal manifesta-tions prevailing CONTAINMENT SCALE/ PROCESS/UP clusters. gave weaker emo-tional toT1 with UP, BLOCKAGE, COUNTERFORCE schemata. It can be assumed is organising spatial representation traffick-ing from victimʼs perspective, conveying contained, difficult situation, enclosed space, supported other through lens concept big-ness, large scale, growing process, etc. results used content new method-ology raising awareness target audience vulnerable HT.
