چکیده
In response to the large-scale instability failure problem of designing coal pillars and support systems for gob-side entry driving (GSED) in high-stress soft seams deep mines, main difficulties surrounding rock control GSED were analyzed. The relationship between position roof breaking line, together with width limit equilibrium zone a reasonable size pillar, quantified through theoretical calculations. calculations showed that maximum minimum widths pillar are 8.40 m 5.47 m, respectively. A numerical simulation was used study distribution characteristics evolution laws deviatoric stress plastic fields under different sizes. Theoretical analysis, simulation, engineering practice comprehensively applied determine narrow seams, which 6.5 m. Based on size, zones roadway, at positions advanced panel during mining, simulated, range roadway strengthening supports determined as 25 plasticization degree roof, entity boundary line peak after stability excavation obtained. Drilling crack detection conducted rib, development key areas clarified. Joint technology is proposed, includes combination channel steel anchor beam mesh, rib asymmetric truss cable grouting modification local fractured an single hydraulic support. selected high-strength combined reinforcement can effectively large deformations rock.

Permeability evolution during progressive deformation of intact coal and implications for instability in underground coal seams
We report measurements of deformation, strength and permeability evolution during triaxial compression of initially intact coals. Permeability is continuously measured by the constant pressure differential method, together with axial and volumetric strains for both water (H2O) and strongly adsorbing carbon dioxide (CO2) gas. Strength and Young’s modulus increase with increasing confining stress...
متن کاملEstimation of coal seams gas content for evaluating potential use of methane drainage system in Tabas coal mine
Methane gas emission, accumulation, and explosion are the most important risk factors in underground coal mines. Hence, having a knowledge of methane gas emission potential in underground coal mines is of crucial importance in preventing the explosion risk, loss of life, and property, and providing miners' safety. The purpose of this work is to provide the prediction maps for the C1, C2, and B2...
متن کاملInstability leading to coal bumps and nonlinear evolutionary mechanisms for a coal-pillar-and-roof system
This paper studies the unstable mechanisms of the mechanical system that is composed of the stiff hosts (roof and floor) and the coal pillar using catastrophe theory. It is assumed that the roof is an elastic beam and the coal pillar is a strain-softening medium which can be described by the Weibull s distribution theory of strength. It is found that the instability leading to coal bump depends...

Sulphur in coil1 is il major environmental concern. The use of coal for combustion requires the control of sulphur dioxide emissions. To reduce these emissions, the total solphur content in c~ial product ~must he decreased. This can he accomplished by using low-sulphur coal. cleaning coal prior to combustion. retaining sulphw during wmhustion. or hy treatment of tlur gases after combustion. The...
متن کاملSource and Distribution of Phosphorus in British Columbia Coal Seams
Phosphorus contents of coal from around the world vary although there is a tendency for Permian coals from India and Australia, and Cretaceous coals from Western Canada to have more phosphorus than Carbcmiferous coals from Europ+ and USA (Table 1). This may be because of the evolution of vegetation type over geological time or because of the conditions in the coal swamps. Data presented here su...
