Let X be a product of Drinfeld modular curves over a general base ring A of odd characteristic. We classify those subvarieties of X which contain a Zariski-dense subset of CM points. This is an analogue of the André-Oort conjecture. As an application, we construct non-trivial families of higher Heegner points on modular elliptic curves over global function fields.
متن کاملSpecial Points on Products of Modular Curves
We prove the André–Oort conjecture on special points of Shimura varieties for arbitrary products of modular curves, assuming the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis. More explicitly, this means the following. Let n ≥ 0, and let Σ be a subset of Cn consisting of points all of whose coordinates are j-invariants of elliptic curves with complex multiplications. Then we prove (under GRH) that the irreduc...
متن کاملThe André-Oort conjecture for products of Drinfeld modular curves
Let Z = X1×· · ·×Xn be a product of Drinfeld modular curves. We characterize those algebraic subvarieties X ⊂ Z containing a Zariski-dense set of CM points, i.e. points corresponding to n-tuples of Drinfeld modules with complex multiplication (and suitable level structure). This is a characteristic p analogue of a special case of the André-Oort conjecture.
متن کاملUniformization of Drinfeld Modular Curves
These are notes from a talk in the Arithmetic Geometry Learning Seminar on Drinfeld modules during the fall of 2017. In this talk, we discuss the uniformization of the Drinfeld modular curves (of fixed rank, with level structure), following [Dri74, §6]. In addition, we introduce the relevant rigid-analytic background. The exposition draws heavily on [DH87, Gek86]. 1. Uniformization of Complex M...
متن کاملFundamental Domains of Some Drinfeld Modular Curves
We construct fundamental domains for arithmetic subgroups of Γ = GL2(Fq [t]). Given ∆ ⊇ Γ(a) we construct a contracted form T of the Bruhat-Tits tree T and a fundamental domain F of ∆ acting on T. We define a lift of F to F ⊂ T called the “bipartite” lift. We show that F is a fundamental domain of ∆ acting on T precisely when F is “∆-compressed.”
