Cluster Based Large Scale Demonstration of Irrigated Wheat Production Technologies in East Wollega Zone, Oromia, Ethiopia

Ethiopian government has initiated a wheat self-sufficiency strategies through increasing productivity and expansion of production to the irrigable land areas. This study investigated Cluster based large scale demonstration irrigated bread in Wayu Tuka Jima Arjo Districts. Irrigated build local capacity for wider adoption technologies practices East wollega Zone were main objectives activity. A total 487 farmers addressed both districts. It was done well-functioned eight irrigation schemes one district. Site selected possessively on potential commodity, farmers’ willingness accessibility supervision input transportation. Improved variety “kingbird” “Dendea” District planted at rate 150 kg/ha size 124ha. Totally, 2435 peoples benefited either directly or implemented production. Therefore, better strengthen current awareness should be continued improving crop sustainable manner.
