Closed‐loop Nash competition for liquidity

چکیده
We study a multiplayer stochastic differential game, where agents interact through their joint price impact on an asset that they trade to exploit common trading signal. In this context, we prove closed-loop Nash equilibrium exists if the parameter is small enough. Compared corresponding open-loop equilibrium, both agents' optimal rates and performance move towards central-planner solution, in excessive due lack of coordination reduced. However, size effect modest for plausible values.

Bank mergers, competition and liquidity
We provide a model of the impact of bank mergers on loan competition, individual reserve management and aggregate liquidity risk. Banks hold reserves against liquidity shocks, refinance in the interbank market and compete in a differentiated loan market. A merger creates an internal money market that induces financial cost advantages and may increase reserve holdings. We assess the liquidity ri...
متن کاملMutual fund competition and stock market liquidity
We study how competition in the mutual fund industry affects the stock market and its liquidity. We argue that mutual fund families operate as multi-product firms, jointly choosing fees, performance and number of funds. We show that competition between fund families distorts the incentives to collect information and induces the families to trade off performance and number of funds. An increase ...
متن کاملLiquidity risks on power exchanges: a generalized Nash equilibrium model
The extreme volatility of electricity prices makes its financial derivatives important instruments for asset managers. Even if the volume of derivative contracts traded on Power Exchanges has been growing since the inception of the restructuring of the sector, electricity remains considerably less liquid than other commodity markets. This paper assesses the effect of limited liquidity in power ...
متن کاملLiquidity and Asset Returns Under Asymmetric Information and Imperfect Competition
We analyze how asymmetric information and imperfect competition affect liquidity and asset prices. Our model has three periods: agents are identical in the first, become heterogeneous and trade in the second, and consume asset payoffs in the third. We show that asymmetric information in the second period raises ex ante expected asset returns in the first, comparing both to the case where all pr...
متن کاملGfKl Data Mining Competition 2005: Predicting Liquidity Crises of Companies
Data preprocessing and a careful selection of the training and classification method are key steps for building a predictive model with high performance. Here, we present the approach used for training and classification in our solutions submitted to the 2005 GfKl Data Mining Competition. The initial step of data preprocessing is described in the first part of this work. The task to be solved f...
