Close encounters with the Death Star: Interactions between collapsed bodies and the Solar System

Aims. We aim to investigate the consequences of a fast massive stellar remnant – black hole (BH) or neutron star (NS) encountering planetary system. Methods. modelled close encounter between actual Solar System (SS) and 2 M ⊙ NS 10 BH, using few-body symplectic integrator. used range impact parameters, orbital phases at start simulation derived from current SS velocities, incidence angles relative plane SS. Results. give distribution possible outcomes, such as when remains bound, it suffers partial complete disruption, in which cases intruder is able capture one more planets, yielding systems around BH NS. also show examples long-term stability captured systems.
