Clinico-angiographic profiles and in-hospital outcomes of non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction in Kurdistan Region of Iraq

نویسندگان

چکیده

Objectives: This work aimed to study the clinical, angiographic profiles and in-hospital outcomes of NSTEMI cases in Duhok, Iraq.
Methods: prospective involved 283 patients with who were admitted Azadi teaching hospital/Azadi heart center Kurdistan region Iraq, between 2021 2022. The patient's demographic variables, major cardiovascular risk factors (smoking, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia family history coronary artery disease), clinical presentation, past myocardial infarction/ previous percutaneous intervention (PCI) drug collected. GRACE score was calculated for each patient. Patients followed up regarding management strategies (whether conservative or invasive approach), complications outcomes.
Results: mean 142±26. 70% underwent angiography/ angioplasty, a time 8 days. 17% sample had developed different complications, failure being most common. mortality rate 7.4%.
Conclusion: demonstrated higher rates, especially among scores, compared rates found available studies, particularly western countries. finding could be secondary suboptimal terms proportion it.

Study of the Duration, Outcomes, and Related Factors of Reperfusion Therapy in Patients with ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction

Background and Objective: One of the most important advancements regarding the care of patients with acute myocardial infarction is the administration of anti-coagulation medicines (e.g., streptokinase). However, it must be noticed that this medicine requires rapid and timely administration. Moreover, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) is increasingly used as a method of revascularization...

Optimizing outcomes in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.

During the past two decades, major advances in the treatment of acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), including coronary care units and thrombolysis, have lowered the mortality after hospital presentation to approximately 5%. However, in recent years, there has been little further improvement in survival (1). Neither newer fibrinolytic agents nor attempts to combine a reduce...

Association of hospital primary angioplasty volume in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction with quality and outcomes.

CONTEXT Earlier studies indicate an inverse relationship between hospital volume and mortality after primary angioplasty for patients presenting with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). However, contemporary data are lacking. OBJECTIVE To assess the relationship between hospital primary angioplasty volume and outcomes and quality of care measures in patients presenting with ST...

Electrocardiographic left ventricular hypertrophy is not associated with increased in-hospital adverse events in patients experiencing first non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction: A single center study

Background: There is conflicting data about prognostic implication of electrocardiographic (ECG) left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in patients with first non- ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). We aimed to examine the association of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) on admission electrocardiogram with adverse outcomes in patients with NSTEMI. Methods: In the present study, ...
