چکیده

Abstract Background Treatment of post-traumatic osteochondral defects in the radiocarpal and distal radioulnar joint with nonvascularized metatarsal articular bone grafting is an option to restore (cartilage) surface wrist function. Purpose To evaluate clinical midterm results 10 consecutive patients who were treated a graft for cartilage lunate facet, scaphoid sigmoid notch, or radial part ulnar head. Patients Methods isolated head, respectively, as result trauma retrospectively identified prospectively collected database. The symptoms limited motion and/or pain. Clinical complications extracted from patient's medical files two questionnaires consisting Patient-Rated Wrist Evaluation additional questions regarding patient satisfaction return work hobby. Results Minor occurred three cases required surgery. In five acceptable donor site foot morbidity was seen at 1 year. One not satisfied due persistent pain despite adequate range motion. could its prior work. Another resume Conclusion Retrospective evaluation resurfacing head has shown that osseointegration possible without vascular pedicle all (mean) follow-up 5 years. This technique may become alternative treatment when implants less available. Level Evidence III

Arthroscopic osteochondral grafting for radiocarpal joint defects.

Background Focal chondral lesion is a common cause of chronic wrist pain. The best treatment remains unknown. We have developed a technique of arthroscopic transplantation of an osteochondral autograft from the knee joint to the distal radius with satisfactory clinical results. Materials and Methods Between December 2006 and December 2010, four patients (average age 31 years) with posttraumatic...

The distal radioulnar joint.

The distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) acts in concert with the proximal radioulnar joint to control forearm rotation. The DRUJ is stabilized by the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC). This complex of fibrocartilage and ligaments support the joint through its arc of rotation, as well as provide a smooth surface for the ulnar side of the carpus. TFCC and DRUJ injuries are part of the common pa...

Irreducible dorsal radiocarpal fracture dislocation with dissociation of the distal radioulnar joint: a case report.

We report a case of dorsal radiocarpal fracture dislocation with dissociation of the distal radioulnar joint. Closed reduction was unsuccessful due to interposition of the osteochondral fragments and open reduction and fixation was carried out with a satisfactory end result. The advantages of volar approach and use of external fixator in the management of this injury are discussed.

Clinical and Non-Clinical Aspects of Distal Radioulnar Joint Instability

Untreated distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) injuries can give rise to long lasting complaints. Although common, diagnosis and treatment of DRUJ injuries remains a challenge. The articulating anatomy of the distal radius and ulna, among others, enables an extensive range of forearm pronosupination movements. Stabilization of this joint is provided by both intrinsic and extrinsic stabilizers and the...

Osteochondral defects of the talus treated with autologous bone grafting.

We reviewed, retrospectively, 13 patients who had undergone open anterograde autologous bone grafting of the talus for symptomatic osteochondral defects of the dome of the talus. The mean age of the seven men and six women was 38.4 years. The defects included the full thickness of articular cartilage, extended through the subchondral plate and were associated with subchondral cysts. Six patient...
