Clinical Profile and Outcome of Children who Underwent Micturating Cystourethrogram : A Tertiary Hospital Experience

Introduction: Micturating cystourethrogram (MCUG) is the gold standard test for diagnosis of vesicoureteric reflux (VUR). The study aims to establish association between presence VUR and renal outcomes. Methods: A cross-sectional retrospective was conducted in children who were referred MCUG at a tertiary centre over 10-year period. Baseline characteristic data results ultrasound, MCUG, with function compiled analysed. Fisher Exact used compare grade Simple multiple logistic regressions examine risk factors that may contribute development VUR. Results: There 136 included total. Forty-five had VUR, (31 [68%] high-grade, 14 [32%] low-grade, respectively). One third (33.3%) surgically treated, 29 (64.4%) developed chronic kidney disease (CKD), 18 (40%) scarring. Children urinary tract infection (UTI) hydroureter have 4.19 3.40 times odds developing respectively. Conclusion: from ultrasound strong indicator underlying justifies rationale requesting especially those recurrent UTI. However, this failed demonstrate significant complications scarring CKD.
