METHODOLOGY: A total number 348 patients chronic participated in this cross-sectional study. After recording teeth plaque percentage, participants were assessed for according pocket depth, recession, attachment loss bleeding. Gingival via glucometers random recorded each patient. SPSS version 20 used data analysis. correlation Pearson's coefficient. Multiple regression analysis predict association parameters. Analysis variance compare mild, moderate advance periodontitis. RESULTS: Age, bleeding on probing showed significant positive while negative indicated that has linear loss. found be increasing There difference (p<0.001) mean advanced groups. Comparison of periodontal parameters and metabolic glucose levels in patients with diabetes and healthy subjects
Background: For decades, it was suspected that diabetes contributed to poorer oral health and the increased frequency of periodontitis. More recently it was found that periodontitis could adversely affect glycemic control in diabetics. The aim of this study was to compare periodontal parameters with the metabolic sugar levels of diabetic and non-diabetic individuals. Materials and Methods: I...
متن کاملRelationship between crevicular aspartate aminotransferase levels and periodontal disease progression.
BACKGROUND Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), an enzyme released from necrotic cells, has been identified in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF), and elevated levels are associated with periodontal tissue destruction. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between elevated GCF levels of AST and periodontal disease progression. METHODS Over a 12-month period, 8 to 10 interproximal si...

background and aims. a high number of patients with periodontitis may have undiagnosed diabetes. it is possible that gingival crevicular blood from routine periodontal probing may be a source of blood for glucose measurements. the aim of this study was to compare gingival crevicular blood and fingerstick blood glucose measurements using a self-monitoring device with the standard laboratory plas...

AIM Assess the ability of a panel of gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) biomarkers as predictors of periodontal disease progression (PDP). MATERIALS AND METHODS In this study, 100 individuals participated in a 12-month longitudinal investigation and were categorized into four groups according to their periodontal status. GCF, clinical parameters and saliva were collected bi-monthly. Subgingival ...
متن کاملLevel of Oxidative Stress Markers in Peri-Implant Crevicular Fluid and Their Correlation with Clinical Parameters
OBJECTIVES Increased levels of oxidative stress markers in periodontitis have been reported by recent studies. Malondialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) are both increased during oxidative stress. The aim of this study was to detect and measure the level of oxidative stress markers in peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF). Their correlation with peri-implant clinical parameters was in...
