چکیده
Background & Aims The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been declared a pandemic. Although COVID-19 is caused by infection in the respiratory tract, extrapulmonary manifestations including dysregulation immune system and hepatic injury have observed. Given high prevalence hepatitis B virus (HBV) China, we sought to study impact severe acute syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2) HBV coinfection patients. Methods Blood samples 50 SARS-CoV-2 coinfected patients, 56 mono-infected 57 HBeAg-negative chronic patient controls healthy admitted Renmin Hospital Wuhan University were collected this study. Complete blood count serum biochemistry panels markers indicative liver functions performed. Cytokines IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6 IL-10 evaluated. T cell, cell NK counts measured using flow cytometry. Results did not significantly affect outcome COVID-19. However, at onset COVID-19, patients showed more monocytopenia thrombocytopenia as well disturbed function albumin production lipid metabolism. Most disarrangement could be reversed after recovery from Conclusions While predispose outcomes, our data suggest poses higher extent host Thus, caution needs taken with management

CHARACTERISTICS AND PREVALENCE OF OCCULT HEPATITIS B VIRUS INFECTION IN PATIENTS WITH HEPATITIS C IN IRAN
ABSTRACT Background: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in patients who lack detectable hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) is called occult hepatitis B infection. Such infections have been frequently identified in patients with chronic hepatitis Cliver disease, but their prevalence is not known. Methods: 207 patients with chronic hepatitis C who were HCV -RNA and antiHCV positive were stu...
متن کاملThe Absence of Hepatitis C Virus Infection Among Patients with Hepatitis B virus in Mashhad, Iran
Background and Aims: Many studies have provided evidence for the role of hepatitis B and C viruses in the development of liver cancer. Although the routine treatment is available for both conditions, no definite guideline is available to treat patients dually infected with HBV and HCV. This study was performed to determine the frequency of HBV/HCV-coinfection in Mashhad, North-East of Iran. Mat...
متن کاملHepatitis B Virus Infection in Patients with Blood Disorders: A Concise Review in Pediatric Study
Childhood Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection causes both medical and public health challenges. Infants who acquire HBV parentally have up to 90% risk of developing chronic HBV infection. It is now estimated that approximately 10% of worldwide cancers are attributable to viral infection, with the vast majority (>85 %) occurring in the developing world. In this distribution, elevated rate and prev...
متن کاملEvaluation of miR-101 Level in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection and Liver Cirrhosis
ABSTRACT Background and Objective: MiRNAs are small RNAs that are expressed in most eukaryotes, and can regulate gene expression by attaching to the 3’ end of target mRNA. MicroRNA-101 (miR-101) post-transcriptional regulation is important for host-virus interactions. In addition, miR-101 has a tumor suppressive role in liver cancer and metastasis, an...
متن کاملGenotypes and clinical phenotypes of hepatitis B virus in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infection.
Genotype C of hepatitis B virus (HBV) has been shown to be associated with a poor clinical outcome, compared to genotype B. To explore the clinical phenotypes, with special reference to the seroconversion of hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) and frequency of acute exacerbation between patients infected with HBV genotypes B and C, a cohort of 272 Taiwanese patients with chronic HBV infection was ana...
