Clinical and Radiological Correlation of Spinal Tuberculosis

Objective: The aim of this study is to establish a comprehensive understanding the clinical and radiological features spinal tuberculosis, evaluate their correlation in order enhance diagnostic accuracy, management strategies, patient outcomes. Study Design: This was retrospective, observational, cross-sectional study. Place Study: research conducted at Department Neuro-Sugery, Darul -Sehat Hospital Neurology Radiology Creek General Hospital, both tertiary care hospital Karachi. Duration Data were collected over period two years from January 2021 December 2022. Methodology: A total 120 patients diagnosed with tuberculosis included study.. Demographic data, presentations, laboratory findings, findings analyzed. assessed using X-ray, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. Statistical analysis performed identify correlations between associations Results: mean age 46.3 years, slight male predominance. most common manifestations back pain (89.3%), neurological deficits (57.3%), constitutional symptoms (45.3%). thoracic spine predominantly affected (61.3%), followed by lumbar (28%) cervical regions (10.7%). Radiological demonstrated vertebral destruction (90.7%), disc space narrowing (83.3%), paravertebral abscesses (76%), epidural involvement (58%). strong observed severity extent abnormalities. Patients extensive cord compression showed significantly higher rates deficits. Conclusion: highlights crucial role diagnosis tuberculosis. Early recognition disease, prompt initiation appropriate treatment, regular monitoring progress can improve outcomes reduce long-term complications.
