چکیده
Rationale The aim of this paper is to present research examining how the climate hazard extreme heat impacts varsity-level sport athletes and facilities, current responses, options for adaptation. Methods A sample 30 participants from a higher education institution athletics department was used with two-phase Delphi study method that applied two iterations questionnaires mixed analysis. situated in region Köppen classification “Warm Summer Continental Climate”.Findings Heat hazards aligned primarily slow-onset, rather than fast-onset, impact categories. Adapting incremental adaptation transformative adaptation. These findings suggest new concept university so at pioneering stage practice.Practical implications Identifies managers integrating into strategic operational thinking organizations.Research contribution This extends knowledge by presenting evidence risks as perceived during an era change. results address gaps existing literature using primary source data add base change, identifying

Iran's Future Climate Conditions and Hazard in Climate Research
Global temperatures have increased in the past 100 years by an average of 0.74°C (IPCC, 2013), with minimum temperatures increasing faster than maximum temperatures and winter temperatures increasing faster than summer temperatures (IPCC, 2013). Total annual rainfall tends to increase at the higher latitudes and near the equator, while rainfall in the sub-tropics is likely to decline and become...
متن کاملClimate change and extreme heat events.
The association between climate change and the frequency and intensity of extreme heat events is now well established. General circulation models of climate change predict that heatwaves will become more frequent and intense, especially in the higher latitudes, affecting large metropolitan areas that are not well adapted to them. Exposure to extreme heat is already a significant public health p...
متن کاملExtreme Events as Pacemaker of Adaptation to Climate Change
For variety of reasons, extreme events are thought of as propelling adaptation to climate change (Füssel, 2007; IPCC, 2012). In the simplest formulation of this logical assertion, extreme weather and climate events transcend the signal-to-noise threshold and make climate risks starkly evident to decision-makers. Similarly, they make latent societal vulnerability manifest, and overcome economic ...
متن کاملClimate Change, Climate Modes, and Climate Impacts
■ Abstract Variability of the atmospheric and oceanic circulations in the earth system gives rise to an array of naturally occurring dynamical modes. Instead of being spatially independent or spatially uniform, climate variability in different parts of the globe is orchestrated by one or a combination of several climate modes, and global changes take place with a distinctive spatial pattern res...
