Climate change alters the haemolymph microbiome of oysters

چکیده

The wellbeing of marine organisms is connected to their microbiome. Oysters are a vital food source and provide ecological services, yet little known about how climate change such as ocean acidification warming will affect We exposed the Sydney rock oyster, Saccostrea glomerata, orthogonal combinations temperature (24, 28 °C) pCO2 (400 1000 ?atm) for eight weeks used amplicon sequencing 16S rRNA (V3-V4) gene characterise bacterial community in haemolymph. Overall, elevated interacted alter microbiome oysters, with clear partitioning treatments CAP ordinations. Elevated was strongest driver species diversity richness also increased richness. Climate change, both warming, S. glomerata which may increase susceptibility oysters disease.

Resolving the life cycle alters expected impacts of climate change.

Recent models predict contrasting impacts of climate change on tropical and temperate species, but these models ignore how environmental stress and organismal tolerance change during the life cycle. For example, geographical ranges and extinction risks have been inferred from thermal constraints on activity during the adult stage. Yet, most animals pass through a sessile embryonic stage before ...

Climate change alters diffusion of forest pest: A model study

Population dynamics with spatial information is applied to understand the spread of pests. We introduce a model describing how pests spread in discrete space. The number of pest descendants at each site is controlled by local information such as temperature, precipitation, and the density of pine trees. Our simulation leads to a pest spreading pattern comparable to the real data for pine needle...

Vibrio crassostreae sp. nov., isolated from the haemolymph of oysters (Crassostrea gigas).

Polyphasic analysis of five new Vibrio isolates originating from the haemolymph of diseased cultured oysters is described. The new isolates were closely related to Vibrio splendidus, having 98 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity. gyrB phylogenetic analysis, fluorescent amplified-fragment length polymorphism (FAFLP) fingerprinting and DNA-DNA hybridization experiments clearly showed that the new...

Vibrio gigantis sp. nov., isolated from the haemolymph of cultured oysters (Crassostrea gigas).

Polyphasic analysis of four new Vibrio isolates originating from the haemolymph of diseased cultured oysters is described. The new isolates were closely related to Vibrio splendidus, having 98 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity. Phylogenetic analysis based on DNA gyrase subunit B (gyrB), RNA polymerase sigma70 factor (rpoD), replication origin-binding protein (rctB) and transmembrane regulator...

Climate Change and the Challenges of Quantitative Assessment of Urban Climate Change: A Case Study in Tehran Metropolis

Background and Aim: Climate change on the earth is changing faster than ever before in the history. Cities are highly vulnerable to this climate change. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate climate change in the metropolis of Tehran during the period 1991-2020 and help understand the limitations that cities may have in confronting climate change. Materials and Methods: This descri...
