چکیده
Abstract Background Sparse relative effectiveness evidence is a frequent problem in Health Technology Assessment (HTA). Where directly pertaining to the decision sparse, it may be feasible expand evidence-base include studies that relate only indirectly: for instance, when there no on comparator, other treatments of same molecular class could used; similarly, children borrow-strength from adults. Usually, HTA, such indirect either included by ignoring any differences (‘lumping’) or not at all (‘splitting’). However, range more sophisticated methods exists, primarily biostatistics literature. The objective this study identify and classify breadth available information-sharing methods. Methods Forwards backwards citation-mining techniques were used set seminal papers topic information-sharing. Papers if they specified (network) meta-analytic combining information distinct populations, interventions, outcomes study-designs. Results Overall, 89 included. A plethora synthesis have been Most ( n =79) described shared treatment effects. Amongst these, was strong emphasis across multiple =42) =25), with fewer focusing study-designs =23) populations =8). We categorise discuss under four ’core’ relationships information-sharing: functional, exchangeability-based, prior-based multivariate relationships, explain assumptions made within each these core approaches. Conclusions This highlights available. These often impose moderate than lumping splitting. Hence, degree potentially considered appropriate. Our identification ‘core’ allows an improved understanding underpinning different Further research required understand how differ terms strength sharing implications health care decisions.

Classifying qualitative information using centroid based methods
In this paper we consider the problem of classification of qualitative data. We present an approach to overcome several difficulties which show SAHN (sequential, agglomerative, hierarchic, nonoverlapping) clustering methods to classify qualitative data when using centroids to compute similarities between pairs of classes. The approach is based on a recently proposed class of qualitative weighte...
متن کاملClassifying Software Design Methods
A few mature and popular methods are currently being used to specify and design real-time embedded systems software, and these methods are the basis for a large number of tools automating the process. Unfortunately, some of the tools support only parts of a method, while others support a mixture of different methods. Because of the large number of tools involved, companies selecting tools for t...
متن کاملClassifying Numeric Information
Learning programs that try to generalize from real-world examples may have to deal with many different kinds of data. Continuous numeric data may cause problems for algorithms that search for identical aspects of examples. This problem can be .. . surmounted by categori=ing the nume-ric data. However, this process has problems of its own. In this paper we look at the need for categorizing numer...
متن کاملClassifying ecommerce information sharing behaviour by youths on social networking sites
Teenagers and young adults are an economically critical demographic group, and they are a confronted with an array of internet social networking services just as they are forming their online information seeking and sharing habits. Using a survey of 34,514 respondents from myYearbook.com, the research reported in this paper is an inferential analysis of information seeking and sharing behaviour...

Web-based information systems play an important role in today’s practice of data-analysis and reporting in the field of environmental protection. While these systems solved some technical problems concerning the integration and visualization of information they show some problems even harder to handle. These problems are concerned with content and organization of the information within the info...
