Concentration Inequalities for Multivariate Distributions: I. Multivariate Norivial Distributions
Let X rv Np(O, E), the p-variate normal distribution with mean °and positive definite covariance matrix .E. Anderson (1955) showed that if .E2 .E1 is positive semidefinite then PEl (C) 2: P E2(C) for every centrally symmetric (-C = convex set C ~ RP. Fefferman, Jodeit, and Perlman (1972) extended this result to elliptically contoured distributions. In the present paper similar multivariate f f"...
متن کاملthe evaluation of language related engagment and task related engagment with the purpose of investigating the effect of metatalk and task typology
abstract while task-based instruction is considered as the most effective way to learn a language in the related literature, it is oversimplified on various grounds. different variables may affect how students are engaged with not only the language but also with the task itself. the present study was conducted to investigate language and task related engagement on the basis of the task typolog...

Comparison of measures of totally positive polynomials
In this note, explicit auxiliary functions are used to get upper and lower bounds for the Mahler measure of monic irreducible totally positive polynomials with integer coefficients. These bounds involve the length and the trace of the polynomial.
Multivariate measures of positive dependence
The concept of dependency in a bivariate and in a multivariate setting has been largely studied in recent literature and the development of the theory of copulas has determined a great impact in the study of measures of dependence. This is of interest in economics, insurance, in finance and risk management and in many areas of applied probability and statistics. Several notions of positive depe...
