Circular Economic Modelling: Barriers and opportunities in turning circular within the construction sector

چکیده

Drawing on the findings and insights from two on-going research projects WOOL2LOOP URBCON, we have developed a model to assess circular economic potential while using secondary raw materials (SRMs) substitute OPC (Ordinary Portland cement) partly or fully within building construction industry. Applying our Circular Economy (CEM), assessed business case at each step of value circle sourcing, pre-treatment, production, sales. At describe baseline, intervention, costs, benefit flows identified as result introducing intervention. Furthermore, externalities identify barriers preventing un-fold. While focus usage mineral wool waste, URBCON has broader scope different industrial residuals waste streams suitable produce geopolymer cement. Our analysis shows that pre-treatment costs various SRMs, future supply geographical availability constitute critical factors overall for SRMs. On demand side, main relate standards resistance change sector itself. However, there are also very strong macro trends encouraging reasons stakeholders shift towards climate-neutral production consumption. The paper concludes by discussing scenarios evolution new chains industry structures likely happen in ‘perfect’ economy reality.

Circular coloring and Mycielski construction

In this paper, we investigate circular chromatic number of Mycielski construction of graphs. It was shown in [20] that t Mycielskian of the Kneser graph KG(m,n) has the same circular chromatic number and chromatic number provided that m + t is an even integer. We prove that if m is large enough, then χ(M (KG(m,n))) = χc(M (KG(m,n))) where M t is t Mycielskian. Also, we consider the generalized ...

Individual muscle contributions to circular turning mechanics.

Turning is an activity of daily living that involves both the acceleration of the body center-of-mass (COM) towards the center of curvature and rotation of the pelvis towards the new heading. The purpose of this study was to understand which muscles contribute to turning using experimentation, musculoskeletal modeling and simulation. Ten healthy adults consented to walk around a 1-m radius circ...

Nanofocusing in circular sector-like nanoantennas.

Gold circular sector-like nanoantennas (with a radius of 500 nm and a taper angle of 60°, 90°, and 120°) on glass are investigated in a near-infrared wavelength range (900 - 2100 nm). Amplitude- and phase-resolved near-field images of circular sector-like antenna modes at telecom wavelength feature a concentric circular line of phase contrast, demonstrating resonant excitation of a standing wav...

heterogeneity within the orientalist discourse: representation of the orient in womens travelogues and mens paintings

from 1950s onward, new theories and critical approaches burgeoned across humanities. these theories were context-oriented; as a result, the analysis of discursive practices gained significance. thus, social, political, historical and cultural discourses that have been hitherto marginalized and considered inferior to literary texts, were introduced as important texts to be analyzed by critics. o...

Circular chromatic number and Mycielski construction

This paper gives a sufficient condition for a graph G to have its circular chromatic number equal its chromatic number. By using this result, we prove that for any integer t ≥ 1, there exists an integer n such that for all k ≥ n χc(M (Kk)) = χ(M (Kk)).
