Chitosan-Ag nanoparticle antifungal activity against Fusarium sp., causal agent of wilt disease on chili

Abstract Chitosan is a polysaccharides compound derived from nature and has an amine group hydroxyl that gives it unique physicochemical properties, which are polychationic chelating agent. This shows chitosan can be used as stabilizer reducer of Ag nanoparticles. Unlike other studies, was in this study Black Soldier Fly exuviae been through demineralization, deproteination, depigmentation, deacetylation processes. aims to obtain alternative environmentally friendly fungicide with Ag-chitosan nanoparticle formulation antifungal activity against Fusarium sp. causes wilt disease chili plants. We analysed particle size, functional by FTIR, test on 1000, 750, 500, 250, 100 ppm chitosan-Ag nanoparticle. The nanoparticles have size 188.4 nm polydispersity index 0.344. FTIR analysis showed Ag+ ions successfully grafted into the matrix. All concentration tested significant results negative positive control, except not significantly differ control. 750 had growth inhibition 72.17%.
