Making glue in high energy nuclear collisions
We discuss a real time, non–perturbative computation of the transverse dynamics of gluon fields at central rapidities in very high energy nuclear collisions.
متن کاملQuarks in nuclear medium
Using the quark-meson coupling (QMC) model we study nuclear matter from the point of view of quark degrees of freedom. As the nucleon model we adopt the MIT bag model and the relativistic constituent quark model, where a square well and harmonic oscillator potentials are used to confine the quarks. We introduce the Lorentz-vector type confining potential as well as the Lorentz-scalar type one i...
متن کاملEnhanced Cherenkov-wake amplification by an active medium.
A Cherenkov wake confined by perfectly reflecting transverse walls is amplified if the dielectric medium is active. Because of the multiple-reflections process, the effective gain of the wake is enhanced compared to a ray propagating in a straight line. Higher enhancement occurs when the electron velocity is close to the Cherenkov velocity. This Cherenkov wake can then accelerate a second bunch...
متن کامل→ ππ decay in nuclear medium ⋆
We calculate the width for the ω → ππ decay in nuclear medium. Chiral dynamics and low-density approximation are used. At densities around twice the nuclear saturation density we estimate the partial width for the decay of the longitudinal mode to be of the order of a few tens of MeV, and for the transverse mode a few times less.
متن کاملMesons in the nuclear Medium
We discuss recent experimental results on the modification of hadron properties in a nuclear medium. Particular emphasis is placed on an ω production experiment performed by the CBELSA/TAPS collaboration at the ELSA accelerator. The data shows a smaller ω meson mass together with a significant increase of its width in the nuclear medium.
