Chemical Speciation and Potential Mobility of Heavy Metals in Organic Matter Amended Soil

چکیده
Organic matter (OM) degradation from amendments used in the remediation of metal-contaminated soils leads to modifications soil chemical properties immediately after addition, which can also affect metal distribution. Therefore, speciation and potential mobility heavy metals e.g., lead (Pb) cadmium (Cd) were evaluated three amended with OM. Soils, both spiked (with nitrate solution) unspiked, treated OM at a rate 5 tons/ha moist condition. The samples incubation for 30 days 30% A fractionation procedure was applied determine distribution Pb Cd soils. determined. Metals transformed mobile immobile fractions unspiked (not organic matter), but increased fraction decreased it soil. In contrast, OM), (as percentage total) higher than indicating greater compared Pb. However, showed more or less similar pattern transforming since their characteristics almost same.

Chemical Speciation and Potential Mobility of Heavy Metals in the Soil of Former Tin Mining Catchment
This study describes the chemical speciation of Pb, Zn, Cu, Cr, As, and Sn in soil of former tin mining catchment. Total five sites were selected for sampling and subsequent subsamples were collected from each site in order to create a composite sample for analysis. Samples were analysed by the sequential extraction procedure using optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES). Small amounts of Cu, C...

Sewage sludges added to arable land can improve soil fertility and physical properties. However, the concentrations of heavy metals commonly found in sludges limits their application to soil. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the mobility ...
متن کاملInfluence of Dissolved Organic Matter on the Solubility of Heavy Metals in Sewage-Sludge-Amended Soils
Sewage-sludge-amended soils generally contain elevated levels of organic matter and heavy metals compared to control soils. Because organic matter is known to complex with heavy metals, the solubility behavior of the organic matter in such soils may exert a significant influence on the solubility of the metals. Little is known about such a process. Using batch experiments in which the solubilit...

introduction a large volume of sediments are dredged from water bodies such as ports, waterways and wetlands and deposited on land. sediments are typically polluted by contaminants such as heavy metals. metals in sediments are in soluble, carbonate bound, fe-mn oxide, sulfide/organic matter bound and residual fractions. the metal solubility and mobility are mainly controlled by organic matter c...
