Chemical Profile and Radical Scavenging Activity of Extracts <i>Musanga cecropioides</i> (R. Brown) Seeds Oil from Congo

In Africa, many of the plant resources high nutritional value are not yet included in uses local populations. This study contributes to enhancement lipid potential Musanga cecropioides (R. Brown) seeds. Soxhlet seed oil extraction gave a yield 8.62%. The evaluation physical parameters brings it closer that Argan oil. extracted from seeds M. consists mainly three major fatty acids: oleic acid (48.58 ± 0.63%), linoleic (26.74 0.53%) and palmitic (15.05 0.21%), determination which is made by CPG-MS. composition places among oleic/linoleic oils with potentially properties. search for minor compounds oily fraction shows carotenes, tocopherols sterols on thin layer (TLC). antioxidant activity evaluated anti-free radical test TLC spectrophotometer using DPPH. results obtained show an important scavenging IC50 (1.539 0.013 mg/mL) strong unsaponifiable latter due (0.073 0.004 mg/ml). Analysis sensory profile could be used cosmetics, pharmaceuticals food.
