Charged-particle multiplicity dependence of charm-baryon-to-meson ratio in high-energy proton-proton collisions

چکیده
We propose that the charged-particle multiplicity dependence of charm-baryon-to-meson ratio observed in high-energy $pp$ collisions can be explained by canonical treatment quantum charges statistical hadronization model (SHM). Taking full particle listings PDG complemented additional charm-baryon states from relativistic quark predictions, we evaluate partition function and charm-hadron chemical factors measure suppression arising requirement strict conservation charges. demonstrate that, while charm number induces common on production both charm-baryons -mesons, baryon (strangeness) causes further (charm-strange mesons) relative to nonstrange charm-mesons, thereby resulting a decreasing $\Lambda_c/D^0$ ($D_s/D^0$) toward smaller events. The thermal densities thus computed are then used as pertinent weights perform charm-quark fragmentation simulations yielding $p_T$-dependent $D_s/D^0$ ratios at varying multiplicities fair agreement with ALICE measurements.

Strangeness production as a function of charged particle multiplicity in proton-proton collisions
Recent measurements performed in high-multiplicity proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions have shown features that are reminiscent of those observed in lead-lead (Pb-Pb) collisions. These observations warrant a comprehensive measurement of the production of identified particles. We report on the production of K0 S , Λ, Λ, Ξ ± and Ω± at mid-rapidity measured as a function of multip...
متن کاملφ-meson production in proton-proton collisions
The production of φ-mesons in proton-proton collisions is investigated within a relativistic meson-exchange model of hadronic interactions. The experimental prerequisites for extracting the NNφ coupling strength from this reaction are discussed. In the absence of a sufficient set of data, which would enable an accurate determination of the NNφ coupling strength, we perform a combined analysis, ...
متن کاملCharm in Electron–proton Collisions
Charm in electron–proton collisions is a particularly large and interesting field. For this summary two topics particularly relevant for HERA have been selected. First the study of inelastic J/ψ production in both the photoproduction and the electroproduction regime, study still needed to clarify the J/ψ production mechanisms. Second the analysis of D photoproduction events, study than can lead...
متن کاملHeavy quark energy loss in high multiplicity proton-proton collisions at the LHC.
One of the most promising probes to study deconfined matter created in high energy nuclear collisions is the energy loss of (heavy) quarks. It has been shown in experiments at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider that even charm and bottom quarks, despite their high mass, experience a remarkable medium suppression in the quark gluon plasma. In this exploratory investigation we study the energy l...
متن کاملNuclear like effects in proton-proton collisions at high energy
We show that several effects considered nuclear effects are not nuclear in the sense that they do not only occur in nucleus-nucleus and hadron-nucleus collisions but, as well, they are present in hadron-hadron (proton-proton) collisions. The matter creation mechanism in hh, hA and AA collision is always the same. The pT suppression of particles produced in large multiplicity events compared to ...
