Charge transfer between rotating complex scalar fields

A bstract We consider the transfer of a U(1) charge density between Bose-Einstein condensates complex scalar fields coupled to thermal bath, focusing on case homogeneous Affleck-Dine field transmitting stored in its angular motion an axion field. demonstrate that absence additional symmetries this transfer, aided by cosmic expansion as well effective potential field, can be very efficient. The redistribution becomes possible if interactions with bath break original × symmetry down single symmetry; distribution two is then determined minimizing free energy. discuss implications for cosmological setups involving scalars, applications dark matter, baryogenesis, kination domination, and gravitational wave production.

It is shown how to construct a transfer matrix and, for a class of metrics, the basic spectral properties of its generator are investigated.
