Charge singlets and orbital-selective charge density wave transitions

چکیده

The possibility of "orbitally selective Mott transitions" within a multiband Hubbard model, in which one orbital with large on-site electron-electron repulsion $U_1$ is insulating and another orbital, to it hybridized, small $U_{-1}$, metallic, problem long-standing debate investigation. In this paper we study an analogous phenomenon, the co-existence metallic bands system orbitals different electron-phonon coupling (EPC). To end, examine two variants bilayer Holstein model: uniform "Holstein-Metal interface" where coupling, $\lambda$, zero "metallic" layer. charge density wave (CDW) order dominates at interlayer hybridization $t_3$, but decreases eventually vanishes as $t_3$ grows, providing analog singlet (spin liquid) physics. interface case, show that CDW penetrates into metal layer forms long-range intermediate ratio inter- intra-layer hopping strengths, $1.4 \lesssim t_3/t 3.4$. This consistent occurrence CDW" regime weak $\lambda_{1} \neq 0$ exhibits order, "metallic layer" $\lambda_{-1}=0$, does not.

Multiple and weak-coupling charge-density-wave transitions in Y5Ir4Si10

Physical characterizations on the ternary compound Y5Ir4Si10 by using electrical resistivity srd, Hall coefficient sRHd, magnetic susceptibility sxd, specific heat sCPd, thermal conductivity skd, and thermoelectric power are reported. For all measured transport and thermodynamic properties, successive anomalies due to chargedensity-wave (CDW) formation were observed. In contrast to the strong-c...

Non-linear electrical response in a charge/orbital ordered Pr0.63Ca0.37MnO3 crystal: the charge density wave analogy.

Non-linear electrical response in a charge/orbital ordered Pr 0.63 Ca 0.37 MnO 3 crystal : the charge density wave analogy. Abstract Non-linear conduction in a charge-ordered manganese oxide Pr 0.63 Ca 0.37 MnO 3 is reported. To interpret such a feature, it is usually proposed that a breakdown of the charge or orbitally ordered state is induced by the current. The system behaves in such a way t...

Sliding charge-density wave in manganites.

Stripe and chequerboard phases appear in many metal oxide compounds, and are thought to be linked to exotic behaviour such as high-temperature superconductivity and colossal magnetoresistance. It is therefore extremely important to understand the fundamental nature of such phases. The so-called stripe phase of the manganites has long been interpreted as the localization of charge at atomic site...

Charge-density-wave phase slip in NbSe3

We have studied the phase-slip process by which charge-density-wave (CDW) current is converted to single-particle current at electrical contacts. Transport and X-ray scattering measurements indicate that an excess voltage Vps dropped between current contacts induces a large static deformation of the CDW phase. The measured Vpsand temperature-dependent phase-slip rates are consistent with a mode...

Competition between Pauli and orbital effects in a charge-density wave system

We present angular dependent magneto-transport and magnetization measurements on α-(ET)2MHg(SCN)4 compounds at high magnetic fields and low temperatures. We find that the low temperature ground state undergoes two subsequent field-induced density-wave type phase transitions above a critical angle of the magnetic field with respect to the crystallographic axes. This new phase diagram may be qual...
